What Msty is

Msty is a free desktop app for chatting with AI models. It runs local and remote models side by side, with a clean interface and features like split chats and knowledge stacks. By adding TokenMix as a remote provider, you can chat with Claude, GPT, DeepSeek and more on your own key. It suits people who want one tidy desktop app for many models.

Before you start

• Install Msty from msty.ai. It is a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux.
• Sign up at tokenmix.ai, open the Console, go to API Keys, and create a key that starts with sk-tm-.

Connect TokenMix

1. Open Settings, go to Remote Model Providers, and click Add New Provider.
2. Provider type: choose Open AI Compatible.
3. API Endpoint: enter https://api.tokenmix.ai/v1, with the /v1 and no trailing slash.
4. API Key: paste your sk-tm- key.
5. Click Fetch Models to load the available models, then save.

Check it works

Start a new chat, pick a TokenMix model at the top, and send a short message such as "hello". A reply means it is connected. You can see the spend in the TokenMix Console.

Common questions

Fetch Models returns nothing: confirm the API Endpoint is https://api.tokenmix.ai/v1 and that your sk-tm- key is active in the TokenMix Console.

Local and remote together: Msty can keep your local models and TokenMix side by side; just pick the model you want for each chat.

Which models to pick: any text model works. Claude Sonnet 4.6, GPT-5.4 and DeepSeek V4 Pro are good starting points.
