Page Assist
An open-source browser extension that adds an AI sidebar and can chat with any web page.
What Page Assist is
Page Assist is an open-source browser extension that puts an AI sidebar next to any web page. It started out for local models but also speaks to any OpenAI-compatible API, so you can connect it to TokenMix and summarize pages, ask questions and chat with Claude, GPT or DeepSeek. It works on Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox and several others.
Before you start
- Install Page Assist from the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons or Edge Add-ons.
- Sign up at tokenmix.ai, open the Console, go to API Keys, and create a key that starts with sk-tm-.
Connect TokenMix
- Click the Page Assist icon in your browser toolbar.
- Open Settings (the gear icon).
- Go to the "OpenAI Compatible API" tab.
- Click "Add Provider" and choose "Custom" from the list.
- API URL: enter https://api.tokenmix.ai/v1 and keep the /v1.
- API Key: paste your sk-tm- key.
- Click Save, then add the models you want to use under this provider.
Check it works
Open the Page Assist sidebar, pick a TokenMix model at the top, and send a short message. A reply means it is connected. Try "summarize this page" on any article to see it use the model.
Common questions
No models listed: for a custom provider you add the models yourself after saving. Page Assist auto-fetches models only for local servers like Ollama and LM Studio.
The field is called "API URL": enter the full https://api.tokenmix.ai/v1 with the /v1, because it is not added for you.
Which models to pick: lightweight, fast models work well for browsing. DeepSeek V4 Flash, Gemini 3 Flash, Claude Haiku 4.5 and Qwen 3.6 Flash are good choices.
